Quiet Days
Things have slowed down a bit now that we're staying in town for more than a week at a time. We're starting to think about and to prepare for winter; JD worked on a warm bed for Gizmo and repairing some areas on the house to keep winter wind out. We hate to think about it, but with highs in the 60s up here last week, it was on our minds. Here's a picture of Michael from last September as well as one of him from last week.
He's learned how to imitate JD by shrugging his shoulders when JD says, "I don't know."
The job list for next year in US English departments was posted last week, so I'm thinking a lot about that too. There are a few jobs that I will be applying for in different parts of the country, and we'll see what God has in mind for our family next year. We could very well be living right here doing exactly what we're doing now!
Here's Michael infatuated with a video of himself.

Sandwich Fair 2011
We always look forward to this time of year because it's the time of the annual Sandwich Fair, in Danielle's hometown of Sandwich, IL. This year did not disappoint with perfect weather, perfectly delicious food, and perfect company!
Danielle lives on beautiful farm land.
Let's see, we sampled (collectively, not individually) corn on the cob, cherry and blueberry pie, a philly cheese steak, smoked Polish sausage, mini doughnuts, and orange cream soda.
The fair has its own post office too, so we mailed some letters that will bear the fair's postmark.

Labor Day 2011
It was yet another fantastic Labor Day at the Batsons' house in Michigan. We all had a great time, but Michael particularly enjoyed being one of the boys.
He got to spend some quality time with his family, and we were so glad to catch up with everyone too. We miss family!
It's more beautiful weather and fun fall activities up here. Michael has his 15 month appointment tomorrow, so new stats are coming. We also think that's he's trying to say "hi, Kitty" whenever he sees Gizmo. And pray for my brother who's on a mission trip in Estonia right now!
