Playroom

I forgot to post pictures of Michael's new playroom! We converted our old office (off the livingroom) into a playroom. Now there's so much more room for Michael's toys, rather than tripping over them all over the first floor (okay, we still do that). Michael loves it, and we are much happier too. JD's desk is now in the dining room, and mine is upstairs in the guest bedroom. Michael takes over the house, room by room!

Snow Fun

We got about 4 inches of snow here over a couple of days, so we got to re-introduce Michael to snow fun (I don't think he remembers his one snow angel from last year). He looks great in his new snow bibs, but he wasn't too sure of the snow at first. He didn't think he could walk in it and would just freeze wherever we put him.
Granted, some of it was pretty deep for him.

JD made a little ramp in our backyard, which served as practice for the snow hill we visited at a local park.
It was so fun! Michael started enjoying it after a couple of trips down the hill, realizing that it was okay to be a bit cold.
The dads and their boys. Matching too!
It's nice because it's going to warm up and rain, so we got to enjoy the snow, and now it will go away. Perfect.

Catching Up, Again

What a crazy month it's been, and I'm pretty glad it's over. Since Christmas, we celebrated New Year's (quietly), and then I left for a five-day trip to Seattle. There, I attended a conference, interviewed, and presented a paper. It was scary, exciting, and a brand new experience traveling alone. I handled everything much better than I anticipated, and God blessed each part of the trip. But I'm so happy to be home; I missed John David and Michael sooooooooo much. I have another week before school begins, so I'm planning for teaching and starting to revise my dissertation because I finished writing a rough draft in Seattle.

JD and Michael did fabulously while I was gone. We send a huge thanks to Danielle and Beth for watching him while JD worked. They had so many adventures at the park and the Discovery Museum. Once, JD sent me a picture of Michael at the Discovery Museum, and Michael was wearing his pajamas, so who knows what really went on while I was out of town. :)

Michael is picking up new words constantly, but he still isn't using them unless we ask him to. On the other hand, he has his sign language down perfectly. He is such a joy. We are excited about what the spring will bring to our family in the way of new plans. We're just waiting for God to let us in on the secret!
